This blog was created in a response to the news that the British National Party (BNP) are planning to field candidates in Ulster, where Nick Griffin the party fuhrer hosted a rally in Bangor town centre in January 2008 where he announced his intentions to field electorial candidates in our local assembly. Unsurprisingly, they have attempted to flout their clean cut, respectable image in the hope that unsuspecting people wont see through to their bigoted true colours.
The BNP have tried on many occasions to field MP candidates but have consistently failed because the mainland electorate saw them for what they really are, xenophobic bigots with an agenda for an all-white UK. They think the people of Northern Ireland are ignorant and that they can exploit the status quo which is why they are coming here. No doubt, their hardline right wing sympathisers within certain loyalist groups will be indifferent to BNP success, if not supportive which is why it is important now to build a challenge to this threat to our multi-cultural democracy. Currently, there is no meaningful anti-fascist prescence in Northern Ireland, especially unionist areas which is why this blog was created.
Northern Ireland has been divided along religious lines for too long which makes it all the more important not the let the BNP suceed in dividing us along ethnic lines too. Any one who considers themself a friend of democracy and rational thought should oppose their poison.
If you look at the BNP's performance in English constituencies where they have succeeded in electing councillors, they have done little good for the people concerned. The living standards of ordinary people in their constituencies have largely deteriorated while their party members on many occasions failed to bother turning up for council meetings! 
Another tactic that the BNP apply is telling people that they're not racist and then only blaming 'immigrants for the problem'. Well, of course this context doesnt sound racist but when Nick Griffin says it he means ''immigrants=non-white''.
Also, the BNP hates anyone who disagrees with their views on immigration or race. They dismiss anyone criticising them as being ''communists'' or being part of the ''marxist conspiracy'' to silence them. This is attypical of the matyrdom complex of other fascists unable to defend their position with rational argument.
The reality is they are afraid that their opponents know the truth about them and when they get to power the BNP will use all means at their disposal to silence their oppostion for good, in much the same way their hero, Adolf Hitler did back in the 20's and 30's.
Their previous late leader, John Tyndall once remarked on Vietnamese boat people:
‘Malaysia has shown us what should be done. They’ve said we’re going to tow them onto the high seas, and we’re going to turn the guns on them if they come back. Why can’t we do that?’

On ‘racial purity’: ‘Racial laws will be enacted forbidding marriage between Britons and non-Aryans: medical measures will be taken to prevent procreation on the part of all those who have hereditary defects either racial, mental or physical.’ (1964)
1966: Found guilty of being in possession of 30 wood coshes, six metal bars and two saw blades. Imprisoned later the same year for possession of guns and bullets.
On 1986 he was imprisoned for incitement to racial hatred.
Tyndall was also the founder of the brown shirted youth group 'spearhead'- a neo-nazi uniformed paramilitary group that idolised Adolf Hitler. In this picture he is on the left hand side.In 1962 he was imprisoned for founding this group.

On their new leader, Nick Griffin- 
NICK GRIFFIN, current BNP leader, a country squire who apparently lives on a private income. Griffin was one of the leaders of the National Front during the 1970s. He has extensive contacts with the European far right, especially Italian neo-fascists. Writing as editor of British Countryman, the BNP’s special publication produced for the Countryside March in 1998, he claimed to be the voice of the ‘silent majority’.
On the Holocaust denial book Did Six Million Really Die?: ‘It was a shattering book, it was a superb booklet or magazine. I’ve done an update of that’ (quoted in Searchlight, June 1997).
On democracy and violence: ‘The electors of Millwall [backed] what they perceived to be a strong, disciplined organisation with the ability to back up its slogan ‘Defend Rights for Whites’ with well directed boots and fists. When the crunch comes, power is the product of force and will, not of rational debate’ (quoted in Searchlight, June 1997). Given a suspended sentence in Harrow Crown Court in May 1998 after being convicted of inciting racial hatred.

What are the facts?
Many BNP and NF leaders and members have convictions for violent criminal offences. BNP member Stephen Richardson was jailed in September 1993 for three years for assaulting a black building worker. Tony Lecomber, the BNP’s propaganda officer, was imprisoned for three years in 1986 for a nail bomb attack on a South London office. He was also convicted of making grenades, detonators and bombs and later for assaulting a Jewish teacher. Terry Blackham, the organiser of the National Front .
Where the BNP or other racist and fascist organisations are active, the level of racial harassment and violence goes up dramatically. This has been clearest in the areas of South East London around the BNP’s headquarters in Welling. This was the area where schoolboys Rolan Adams, Rohit Duggal and Stephen Lawrence were killed. As the newspaper the Voice said of Stephen Lawrence, who was killed while waiting at a bus stop, ‘His only crime was being a black man in modern day Britain’ (4 May 1993). Nearly six years later, due to massive campaigns, the BNP is unable to operate from its HQ in Welling.
In April 2003 JOSEPH Owens, a British National Party candidate seeking a seat in the local elections in Liverpool, served eight months in jail for sending razor blades in the post to members of the city's Jewish community in 1982.He was also convicted and jailed in 1994 for carrying CS gas and knuckle dusters when he worked as a clubland bouncer.
And in 1998 he was charged with the contract murder of 33-year-old nightclub security boss George Bromley - but the charge was dropped due to lack of evidence before the case went to trial.
In the 2004 BBC documentary on the BNP, BNP council candidate Dave Midgley is shown saying he squirted dog faeces through the letterbox of an Asian takeaway.

The BNP hates the tapestry of diversity, vibrance and colour that helps makes modern Britain an inspirational, democratic place that people want to come to. The BNP wants a single race, single culture dictatorship where they can tell us our values, our belief system, even who we can or can't have children with. If they gain influence, gone will be the exotic arts, cuisine, music and alternative cultures that are benefits of living in a multicultural society.
Mainstream politicians and a vast proportion of elected officials are clearly indifferent to this threat which is why the onus is on ordinary people like me and you to act now before it's TOO LATE.
If the BNP ever enter government, all of our freedoms and cultural diversity that we take for granted will be GONE.
Once we can build sufficient numbers, we can send the message to the BNP and their supporters that Northern Ireland is a tolerant land where their hatred is not wanted!
